technology for the glory of Jesus

Jeff Lyons, The Bridge’s official web-jedi, emailed me the site stats since we launched the new webpage not too long ago.  They blew me away…

  • This year we’ve had 5,500 unique visitors (so actual people) to the site who have visited over 25,000 times and looked at 146,000 pages.
  • Our most popular day of the week is Monday, followed by Wednesday. People like to check our site on their lunch break because our busiest hours are from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
  • Over 5,000 pages have been viewed by people in Ireland.
  • Sermons have been downloaded almost 14,000 times.

Now obviously we don’t want someone’s experience with Jesus’ church to end there, but having a gospel-presence online and viewing technology as a missional tool to advance the kingdom is having an unbelievable effectiveness in our culture.  Maybe the first step in introducing a lost friend/coworker/family-member to the church body is letting them dip their foot in the water online.

Calling all geeks, nerds, techies, and appleheads – the kingdom needs you!  And for the rest of us, it’s time to view our twitter feeds, facebook accounts, blogs, and email accounts as missional tools.
