Proudly announcing 2 guest preachers for the “Real Marriage” series

I simply cannot believe this worked out.

When we started planning the “Real Marriage” series, we knew it was going to be an important series for The Bridge and started hoping to bring in one or two guest preachers.  But both of the men I wanted The Bridge to hear from seemed like a pipe dream.  Well, sometimes dreams *do* come true and here we are announcing Eric Geiger and Ray Ortlund as two guest preachers coming to The Bridge during this series in the next few weeks.

Now, Jesus is the only celebrity at The Bridge, but here’s a few facts about these men I want to share in my excitement…

ERIC GEIGER, preaching March 4th

  • Eric has served as the Executive Pastor and a preaching pastor at Christ Fellowship Miami, a church of around 10,000, for 8 years.
  • He recently stepped into a new role as a Vice President at Lifeway Christian Resources downtown.
  • Most significantly for The Bridge, Eric co-authored a book called “Simple Church” that every church staff I’ve ever been on has read together and that has sold a few hundred thousand copies.

RAY ORTLUND, preaching March 25th

  • He doesn’t know it, but Ray (Wikipedia page HERE) has been one of the most significant shaping forces in my life as a Christian and pastor. I started listening to his podcasts when I was in college and read most of his INCREDIBLE commentary on Isaiah during my first year of seminary.
  • In the “Real Marriage” book by Mark and Grace Driscoll our church is reading right now, Mark says that Ray and his wife Jani have the best marriage they have ever seen.
  • Ray pastors Immanuel Church, an amazing church plant in Nashville that Jana and I attend when we’re on vacation.
  • Ray is a Network Director for one of the the fastest-growing church planting movements in the world, the Acts 29 Network.
