Bridge iTunes podcast

As the church has grown, the number of our sermon downloads has increased dramatically with some weeks seeing over 1,000 downloads per sermon as people send them to friends in need or post them through social media outlets.  This volume has left many new or would-be listeners asking where sermons can be downloaded regularly.  For clarification, the easiest way to download sermons is to subscribe to The Bridge’s podcast on iTunes.  You can do so by clicking the link below.

Meet Our City: Jack of Hearts BBQ

At The Bridge we are “for our city” and are genuinely devoted to seeing Spring Hill become the best place to live in America.  One of the ways we can be for our city is by supporting local businesses that help both our local economy and that make Spring Hill unique.  Toward that goal we’ll be taking some time on the blog for the next few weeks to “meet our city” by highlight some local businesses. Share the blog posts on your Facebook walls to love our city by helping promote these Spring Hillian-owned businesses.

The first local business we went to was Jack of Hearts BBQ! Pastor Craig and I checked out Jack of Hearts for the first time together and we were more than pleased with what we got.  Not only does it have a very cool vibe inside, but it’s a homemade BBQ joint with EXCEPTIONAL BBQ – seriously, both of us thought it was some of the best (if not “the best”) we’ve ever had.  And again, everything is homemade by their staff from their owner’s (Todd Masters) personally crafted recipe.  It’s easy to drive by without noticing this place, but its business has quickly grown because IT’S SO DANG GOOD.  Jack of Hearts is located right off of Hwy 31 in the little strip of stores behind The Cigar Station (another business we may review soon) and directions can be found on THEIR WEBSITE.

I, regrettably, tried their MBF (Mans Best Friend) Challenge, which was 6 pounds of food.  If you eat it, you get it free (over $20 of food). If you don’t – like me – you get your picture on their “Wall of Shame”… unfortunately.

Yes, it was a lot of food. I was full.  The first three bites were awesome, but after that point I was merely figuring out a way to finish. I failed, miserably.  I ate about 2 1/2 of them. All in all, Craig and I enjoyed our experience greatly.  The staff (Maddie and JT!) were very cool and friendly.

Other facts about Jack of Hearts:

  • Open for 17 months
  • Todd Masters – the cool looking dude below – is the owner
  • Named after Todd’s first son
  • Everything is homemade
  • They do have Kids Meals
  • Their Cole Slaw is named Simon Slaw (after Todds second son)
  • No person has ever completed the Mans Best Friend Challenge (not even this manly man)
  • Closed Sundays and Mondays

We also got a cool interview with the owner:

All in all, we LOVED the place and seriously highly recommend it to anyone who even has a vague affinity for good BBQ.  If you’ve been and enjoyed it, let us know in the comment section and you can help out the business by “sharing” this post on your Facebook wall. Click the “Facebook” icon below this post and give Todd and his staff some love!
